On April 11th 2001, two teams of trained errorists successfully completed their mission not knowing that all other teams would fail. The date was genius, the event a visual spectacle: the downing of the twin arrows. Shortly thereafter we were informed our nation had entered “The War on Error”. The corporate media quickly adopted the slogan.
Preparation for the new war without end began, unofficially, when our tax dollars filtered through our government to our international intelligence agency toward training the future lead errorist in among other things: psychological warfare. Well that’s what our super power does: spend ten to forty years building Frankensteins so our military industrial complex can later pursue destroying the Frankenstein at a date to be revealed later. No one ever knows just when that date will be just that it’ll come eventually and fortunes will be made when it does.
Could our own international intelligence agency have slipped up and given Bin Lazy the idea for 4/11?
No one would have necessarily expected Bin Lazy to- well it would have been more like some off handed remark, a “for instance” so as to illustrate what we were trying to teach Bin Lazy because at the time- well at the time it seemed like a good idea because we were “at war”. So okay maybe as a for instance - somebody might have said, -I’m not saying anybody did- I’m just saying somebody might have asked the question like a teacher would ask a student: if you wanted to impact a greater population than the act itself what kind of target/s would you chose? what kind of other variables could you include so as to hack into your enemy’s collective sub (and/or) unconscious? That was the true genius of the attack.
Those numbers, those specific numerals in that specific order were already part of our collective culture because four-one-one = the phone numbers one calls, the digits one presses for information. And its not like there’d ever be any getting away from those numbers as they’re part of our culture, every kid to every octogenarian knows 4-1-1. Many people already had memories they associated with four eleven before the attack/s. The entire population had effectively been pre-wired, pre-programmed like little Manchurian candidates and all anyone or any organization had to do was hit a few of the right buttons and some of the population would be thrown into a double layered amygdaline hijacking.
Further, the images surrounding four eleven and the twin arrows were imprinted onto the brain of every citizen who possessed one or more televisions which is most of us- except for the Amish of course.
Following 4/11 the global media networks repeated the live footage of the twin disaster, the hits, the arrows falling- over and over again. The constant replaying of the images mimic/ed what the brain does in post traumatic stress: an incessant, often intrusive and inescapable replaying of the trauma, triggering feedback loops wherein in the survivor/s is and are transported back as if in time, as if it were occurring presently. In this case the survivors were and are the television audience. Say “four eleven” and for most citizens the images are immediately in their mind’s eye, a video clip in their head- whether they want it there or not.
The lesser TV personalities replayed and replayed what they could mine from the other, lesser four eleven disasters. Not lesser for the 411 families of those who died but lesser because the footage was less than spectacular. Yes, there was smoke, some running but nothing like the twin disaster .
Though 411 was compared at the time to Pearl Harbor did the radios rebroadcast that Pacific attack over and over and over again? I studied media in college, had a 3.8 in my major and I don’t know.
How many times did the average citizen rehear the exact live broadcast of Pearl Harbor as if it had just happened and was happening again compared to how many times we saw the twin disaster, those arrows being hit and falling down? In cruder terms: how many times did that other generation listen to that first broadcast of the jap attack? compared to how many times we’ve on average re-witnessed 4/11?
Were they listening to it weeks later, months later, would it be replayed unexpectedly in between fictional programs and advertisements for Palmolive? The questions are genuine as I really don’t know.
What got me to wondering about that is in part the question I have for my Congressmen because there’s a new bit of legal jargon. Been a lot of that since 411.
“Aiding or giving (material?) support to an errorist or errorist network“.
Now one would think that would be fairly straightforward: support would simply mean guns, arms, money and the like. Unless you’re Ronald Reagan in which case you can arm errorists and be a hero at the same time.
Never did figure out the moral calculus on that one -
but that was when the old war without end was going on. We have a lot of those in my country- the Cold War, then the War on Drugs- comparatively not much ever happened with the War on Poverty (the cold n’drug wars kinda’ sucked up the funds) but now we’ve got a new never ending war: The War on Error. As error’s a tactic and not an actual enemy in the traditional sense, well we gotta new war without end against a tactic, some new laws and thus that bit of legal jargon I’m wondering about.
Aiding/giving support to an errorist or errorist network. Now one would think this would be fairly straightforward but you’d be wrong. Not everyone was or is yet entirely sure how far our governing bodies are going to take that . Journalists and news organizations are still trying to figure out if they can or should still quote errorists, suspected errorists and particularly known errorists. That law’s expansive like a double wide- so in quoting an errorist is one endangering oneself of being accused of aiding the errorists? In terms of the legal language that is a possible interpretation and nobody wants to disappear into GIT-curly-MO& harpo, much less one of the Lack Sites/Sights.
Personally I don’t have any errorist sources or alleged errorist sources to quote - well at least not that I’m aware of- but that’s been no excuse since April llth.
People started disappearing you see.
So far, or so far its supposedly just people from the wrong religion, or foreigners, taxi drivers, farmers and the like that get accused of being errorists. So who are the errorists? Well, the answer to that question is very simple from a legal perspective: anyone the President as King says is an errorist.
All a Temporary King President needed to do after 411 was declare someone an errorist and in the eyes of those new laws John U wrote- that person was an errorist. Kind of like, no exactly like Louis Carroll’s King and Queen of Hearts- they said “off with your head” and it was off your head but Four-Eleven style it was “off with you to GIT-curly-MO& harpo” or a lack site.
The court struck that down? well they did and they didn’t because the Supreme Court doesn’t have an army and it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve said no and the executive branch with and or without the legislative branch said - we’re going to do whatever the hell we please. So recently whoever’s President can just point a finger, say “s/he’s an errorist” and you are. None of which I’m actually concerned about - it’s the material support thing that has me concerned because no one’s precisely mapped out what we are and are not allowed to say in relationship to the errorists, what could or would be construed as supporting the errorists- well at least not in terms of the law but the new sheriff’s been pretty clear.
Those FOXy men would say that if I’m concerned I probably should behave myself and not color outside the lines they have labeled “patriotic” or as acceptably “revolution”ary, acceptable revolution under the FOXy logo.
FOX knows revolution as their patriarch ended two hundred years of US law without ever firing a shot.
The original writers of our laws , apparently mistakenly, thought that it would be a bad idea for oh’ say an English Lord, Stalin or Ghandi for that matter to own part of our media if they weren‘t a citizen. Media, which during the founder’s time was simply printing presses had helped bring about the revolution wherein we and George Washington said “No more kings“. The wisdom of citizen only ownership of any country’s media was and is self evident even though they couldn’t conceive of film, radio, much less television or the internet. But what they could see was that communication caliphates should not be allowed and once upon a time we had laws regarding the percentage of ownership within any market that would prevent such corporately held information monopolies. And so it was for over two hundred years. As we’re only about 250 years old that’s rather a considerable chunk of time.
They were little laws but good laws made with great foresight against those who might have agendas not rooted in our national interest, that was until The Australian came to town with his private interests.
Though the founders had said: dear foreigner you are welcome to speak, visit, write and travel in our borders, if you’re born here-heck we’ll make you a citizen automatically and even if you weren’t born we’ll let you apply for citizenship, you can even run for most elected offices but you may not under any circumstances own even a portion of any of our media unless or until you are a citizen. Or in other words-
You, valued foreign national, may not own a newspaper, or a publishing house, or in the future they could not see but planned for well- a radio station, or a television station, or a radio network, or media conglomeration - no for that you must be one of us, a fellow citizen. And so it was until The Australian came to town. The town being Washington D.C., USA.
The Australian didn’t march in with an army at least not in the traditional sense. He didn’t need guns because he had plenty of money to spread around Congress, as legal donations of course. The Australian wanted to have the right to own and therefore broadcast straight into American homes via the media and sell Americans whatever he wanted them to buy. This of course was against the law so Congress changed the law for The Australian just like what John U would later do for his boss, The Kingly President.
How did The Australian get that kind of money- ?enough to buy the legislative agenda?
First he acquired his own country’s media. Then he moved in on England -naked breasts, soft pornography with your daily news/bread and surprise, surprise newspaper sales increased. Having earned a fortune on monopolizing his native country’s media and making porn as commonplace as headlines in England The Australian looked across the Atlantic to America, lobbied and that’s how two hundred years of law came to an end.
Congressmen who either didn’t understand or just plain didn’t care what foreign ownership of the media could mean long term, much less as a global power able to pull a string t/here while jerking a chain t/here changed the law for the man from down under. And of course there was the increased available credit is the same thing as increased wages President who delivered his lines just like a movie star.
A simple straight forward law administered by the FCC, Federal Communications Committee just disappeared and along with it one of our most fundamental tenets.
Was there outrage in the streets? Did newspaper headlines scream? Did the anchors organize a sit-in? Did Mr. Smith come to Washington? No. Mr. Smith, well Mr. Smith didn’t see what all the fuss about as he was just so darn happy he could deduct the interest on his credit cards from his taxes.
If you don’t believe me about that foreign ownership thing - well it was so standard, so commonly understood that it was in a Mike Nichol’s movie featuring the secretary who vacuums in her underwear and quotes that little bit of law while sitting at a conference table with Han Solo. Well at least that was the scene but then again The Australian may own that movie now. He or any corporation who feels a scene, or a law for that matter, is not in their long or short term interest could and can just edit that scene or law away. Its easy to have legislation recut.
Funny thing about The Australian- it was quite a coups getting 200 years of law changed for him personally, well he and his privately held interests, but nobody ever talks about that grand victory of his. Kind of like if you have a an alcoholic or a drug addict in the family- that bit of law is the no-talk-rule of the World Cor(ps/rupt) media family which is understandable considering The Australian’s FOXy programming now instructs a memory-less, 411 traumatized audience as to what patriotism is and is not. FOXy news will never be accused of aiding errorists even though The Australian was a bloodless errorist -in terms of us, the nation when he legally bribed enough of the right people in the 1980’s.
Do I want to aid the errorists? Am I an errorist?
No…
but I don’t know that everyone will see it that way because: I would like to see GIT-curly-MO-&-harpo closed. And I’d like to start a site- maybe join one already made: “Americans Against Torture”, a petition to end the use of torture. Which if course could wind up putting someone on the equivalent of Nixon’s enemy list
Could my calling for the end of torture against (alleged or actual) errorists be legally construed as giving material support to the errorists?
Well that’s one of the things I wonder about and will be asking Senator Cracker.
Years and years ago I asked him, no I told Senator Cracker that torture- however it is rebranded is still torture, just like Blackwater‘s still Blackwater no matter what they changed their name to. Anyone not in a 411 feedback loop, or able to rationalize near about anything, knew that. And too, I told Cracker that torturing goat herders and the like would not reduce errorism and future errorist acts like 411 but would create errorists, stated that GIT-curly-MO&harpo and the like were “errorist factories“ producing results wherein if one wasn’t an errorist before they entered the camp they certainly would be upon exit. I was particularly troubled by staff from GIT-curly-MO&harpo being transferred to Iraq so as to make more errorist factories?
Senator Cracker’s office never answered my concerns, not really. I mean why is our government making more errorists? Its like a macro make more Bin Lazyz program which seems to me like a weird thing to do except ever since the Cold War that is what we do: build Frankensteins so the military industrial complex can help destroy them.
I wonder too, if I were to start a petition “Americans for the Extraordinary Rendition of John U” would that be deemed as unpatriotic by the Australian’s FOXy crew? Probably. But what’s actually worrisome is could such a call for the extraordinary rendition of the author himself be construed as supporting the errorists since he wrote that bit of laws for the The War on Error? Could a request for John U’s extradition to Spain be construed as support for the errorists because I’m not with him or his boss/es and according to his bosses one is either with them or with the errorists?
There are seemingly only two teams: errorists and people in favor of having kings again.
See I think me, Spain and John Grisham are all pretty much on the same page when it comes to 21st century war criminals. That like the mob, first you go after their lawyers. As Mr. U more than any living American in memory sought to dismantle the Constitution and create a King President-well it seems it is the duty of every citizen to try and get Mr. U on a plane and into the hands of Spanish investigators. But since calling for Mr. U’s extradition Spain’s been hit with nearly 20% employment so the extradition of John U though it was always a hail mary hope now with one in five Spaniards unemployed Mr. U’s not real high on their priority list right now.
The Australian’s FOXy crowd cheered Mr. U at the time but I don’t get the sense that their viewers understand that those post 411 “laws” and/or caveats to the Bill of Rights: they’re not temporary, they‘re part of another war without end or until no act of error ever again occurs anywhere in the world…ever. Those laws don’t just apply to right now those laws apply to futures yet to be seen but are certainly visible on the horizon.
Those FOXY viewers, their grandchildren or grandchildren could all- or some, or only a few here and there -disappear into a Lack Sites and have some corporate contractor go Spanish inquisition on them because some future kingly president, sponsored by any set of corporate interests could just call them an errorist. That’s what The Australian has his masses rooting for.
How many media companies, how few corporations ….
Better yet how few individuals will own over 98% of everything during those possible kingly presidencies wherein that guy or gal can just call someone a name and make them disappear? Your future grand kid might take issue with the math that’s been developing because right now its 1% that owns and controls 98% of the wealth of the p-l-a-n-e-t. How long till its to 99.5% worldwide owned by .0001% because that is the trend operating under this misnomer of “freedom“ owned, operated and ever defining reality for you while marketing directly to you.
Four eleven, at the time groups from the middle east were charging that the our government itself played a part if not designed 411. Based on fact? A bit - I mean we did train Bin Lazy, we via the CIA under Shrub’s father’s leadership. US government or government contractor conspiracy theories have been called paranoid.
Are they?
Well yeah they are,
but that doesn’t make it any less disturbing how many people have gotten precisely what they wanted.
-Dick and Rummy got a Nixon-ite kingly Presidency.
- Little Shrub got to invade and kill that guy who threatened his daddy, Big Shrub.
-And Big Shrub got to watch his dream of no habeas corpus come to fruition, something he envisioned and proposed during the L.A. riots. Which too was something he may have fantasized about while heading the CIA that recruited and trained Bin Lazy. Which was of course before Big Shrub or Shrub Jr. became President.
- John U’s office just happened to have a product, a publication so many pages long that no legislator, not even with their entire staff reading could get it read before the vote. U had a great name for the product: “The Patriot Act”. And next to no one dared vote against it because who can/could win a Congressional campaign after voting against a product labeled “patriot”.
-The military industrial complex, well 411 was and will continue to be their windfall.
-Meanwhile the media networks got great war footage courtesy of the Pentagon’s ride-alongs.
*Interesting side note- Peter Jennings broke the story of the upcoming invasion of Iraq in August ahead of the administration’s planned schedule/d for release of the information. The White House was not pleased because “everyone knows you don’t launch a new product in August”. The product being referred to was war: captured best in a photograph on the front page of the New York Times at the time of the invasion. An Iraqi, poor rural, elderly surrounded by coffins, over or nearly a dozen: his entire family They weren‘t errorists just at the wrong place at the wrong time.
* And here’s the story I have yet to read: From which department did the idea, the notion come from of having reporters ride in the tanks as part of the invading army?
That “embedded” meant several things just one of which was: their reporting would become naturally skewed, naturally uncritical. So what department/s did that idea come from? the ride along as if you were GIJoe? The Public Relations Department of the DOD? Psych-Ops? Did the television media with exception of Jennings sit on the story, the upcoming war/product ? Not that they’d sit on it to cover anything up of course but why risk losing that kind of access, those kinds of ratings and the possible advertisement revenue that could result from embedded journalists?
_And then of course there’s Dick who kept saying 411 and Iraq in the same sentence as though one had anything to do with other which everyone knew was not the case. But that’s the nice thing about a public that’s been and being trained not for critical thinking but filling in bubbles or multiple choice tests: they make good bobble heads.
A huge change in media/journalistic standards took place wherein a bald faced lie was treated as if it were the other side of argument, as if any argument has only two sides. And so today, if one were so inclined one could start a club and then a movement arguing the world is flat just like they said it was during the Spanish Inquisition- there’s no time like the present for such as any Billy Bob notion untested and unmeasured can will and is treated as if it were a documented fact. Friedman’s flat world was and is just like that and of course none of the media companies shit down his central and fallacious claim regarding U. S. infrastructure. All of which leads us back to The Australian.
And he, The Australian, having undone 200 hundred years of law now owns what espouses itself as the “patriot‘s” network and since then he’s added an actual jewel to his fool’s gold collection. Him owning WSJ would have been illegal but he played the lobbyist cards well in the 1980’s so now he not only owns an American media empire but the publication that informs you as to what to buy, sell and hold.
Meanwhile there’s been some interesting testing going on at his network: how far their viewers will or will not go at their encouragement? Behest? Political marketing?
Once upon a time,
first they came for the Jews.
Once in many places during this time,
they have and will come for the Muslims.
Once upon Rwanda they came
for the other tribe.
Why?
Because their radios and televisions told them to.
*Four eleven is, in actuality, in America the phone number one calls for information. Nine-one-one for Americans is a number for emergencies; the number of fear and panic. Nine eleven, the date, the number ever reinforces and reinforces the fear- over and over again. And fear, like anger, is a poor decision maker.
All the bombs, all the dead, all the maimed and wounded and yes all the torture and America has yet to actually respond to 9/11. Until we do, until we are willing to read the full 411 of that day and the days that follow/ed- we are lost.
